'Alan's Story' film wins EVCOM Award

We’re delighted to celebrate the fantastic news that Alan’s Story, created by Reels in Motion in partnership with NHP, has won Gold at the EVCOM Live & Film Awards 2025 – alongside a Highly Commended for Best Editing.This achievement is especially meaningful because the film was co-created with Alan Torres, a young person from the House Project community whose honesty, courage and creativity shaped every part of the story. His leadership and vision sit at the heart of the film’s impact.
We’re incredibly proud of Alan, of the Reels in Motion team, and of everyone across NHP who contributed to a film that shows the strength, resilience and talent within our community.

Aspirational Awards Update
In May, the Aspirational Awards panel awarded just over £15,000 to 19 young people across our LHPs. It was inspiring to see such a wide range of ideas, goals and determination reflected in the applications, and a privilege to support more young people as they take their next steps forward. Funding in Round 9 supported training + graduate employment scheme, equipment for a baking business and support for other businesses, sports sessions, music lessons, lifeguard course, and day trips. We have also recently completed a 3 year review of our Aspirational Awards and the impact they’ve had. Over the past 3 years, we’ve awarded over £147,000 to 138 young people (not including figures from our most recent round in May). Glasgow Kiltwalk 2026
We’re proud to celebrate a fantastic effort at the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2026, where 25 dedicated walkers came together to raise over £3,500 in support of The National House Project and young people across its Local House Projects, making it a memorable day of teamwork, challenge, and impact.
