Valpak becomes Coventry House Project partner

Valpak is supporting 16 and 17-year-old care leavers with work advice and donations to help them get started.
The Coventry House Project, which launched in 2021, is one of 16 projects across England and Scotland that make up the wider National House Project. The national scheme is working with 380 young people and has helped 240 young people make the transition to living in wider society.
Valpak, as a corporate partner, has invited the young people into the Valpak offices to learn about work; they are given opportunities for work experience, and Valpak also bought House Project Sunrise hoodies and vouchers as Christmas presents.
Ben Richardson, director of procurement at Valpak, said: “We have found the young people are really engaged in the process. They have to apply to be part of the Coventry House Project and this first cohort are a really tightknit group. It has been brilliant seeing how they develop, and the positive experiences they have been having."

Celebrating Success at the Frontline Awards
In May, we were proud to attend the Frontline Awards to celebrate Coventry City Council’s Pathways service winning the Multi-Agency Partnership of the Year award. Funded by the Rayne Foundation, the Pathways programme brings together a number of organisations, including NHP, Coram Voice and The Rees Foundation, working closely alongside the Throughcare Service, Coventry House Project and Lifelong Links. Together, the partnership supports young people leaving care to develop skills, build positive relationships, and focus on their emotional health and wellbeing. Three cohorts of young people from Coventry have now go through the Pathways Programme. Seeing the partnership recognised nationally was a fantastic moment and a powerful reflection of the impact collaborative working can have in supporting care-experienced young people.

Aspirational Awards Update
In May, the Aspirational Awards panel awarded just over £15,000 to 19 young people across our LHPs. It was inspiring to see such a wide range of ideas, goals and determination reflected in the applications, and a privilege to support more young people as they take their next steps forward. Funding in Round 9 supported training + graduate employment scheme, equipment for a baking business and support for other businesses, sports sessions, music lessons, lifeguard course, and day trips. We have also recently completed a 3 year review of our Aspirational Awards and the impact they’ve had. Over the past 3 years, we’ve awarded over £147,000 to 138 young people (not including figures from our most recent round in May). Glasgow Kiltwalk 2026
We’re proud to celebrate a fantastic effort at the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2026, where 25 dedicated walkers came together to raise over £3,500 in support of The National House Project and young people across its Local House Projects, making it a memorable day of teamwork, challenge, and impact.
